Anasuya Sengupta became the first Indian actor to win the Best Actress award at Cannes Film Festival
Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, and other stars extended congratulations to Anasuya Sengupta on her historic victory at the Cannes Film Festival 2024.
Recently, Anasuya Sengupta made history as the first Indian actor to win an acting award at the 77th Cannes Film Festival.
She clinched the award for her performance in The Shameless, directed by Bulgarian filmmaker Constantin Bojanov, which premiered in the Un Certain Regard section of the festival.
Numerous Bollywood celebrities celebrated her historic win by showering her with congratulatory messages via Instagram.
Alia Bhatt shared an article from Hindustan Times and penned, "Many many congratulations to you @cup_o_t."
Bhumi Pednekar and Samantha Ruth Prabhu also shared the same post to extend their congratulations to the actor.
Actor Ranveer Singh wrote, “So proud. Bravo @ cup_o_t," while Arjun Kapoor wasn’t shared, “This deserves to be celebrated along with the film. @ cup_o_t.”
Singer-actor Ayushmann Khurrana wrote, ”Anasuya super proud moment for us! Huge congratulations to you and the entire team behind The Shameless."
After the historic win, Anasuya spoke to Hindustan Times and said, "I am amazed at the love pouring in from so many back home, it makes me proud to make everyone proud."
"I am literally taxi-ing in the plane now on my way home to my family, I just can’t wait to be with them," she added.
