Salman Khan stepped down from the popular Indian reality TV show Bigg Boss OTT to prioritize a film shoot, leading to Anil Kapoor replacing him as host.
As per the Hindustan Times, a source revealed that the 58-year-old Bollywood actor has withdrawn from the upcoming season of Bigg Boss OTT due to his commitment to a film.
The insider said, "At the moment, Salman is focused on the prep work of his upcoming film, Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss. That is one the reasons he didn’t take on the hosting duties for the third season of Bigg Boss OTT."
“Salman is expected to start shooting for Sikandar in June, and that has made him let go of Bigg Boss OTT. Along with film commitment, Salman also felt that it would also look repetitive to the audience, as he is also known to host the reality show on TV."
Another source confirms the news of Anil switching the Bajrangi Bhaijaan star.
"Anil Kapoor will host the show this time, bringing his unique quirks and trademark wit to the set."
On Wednesday, the show makers hinted at the change through a minute-long announcement promo on their official Instagram account.
It revealed that Bigg Boss OTT will debut next month in June, ending with a voiceover teasing, "Yeh season hoga khaas ekdum jhakaas," a term popularly associated with Anil.
