Sanjay Leela Bhansali recently directed the series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar
Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who is currently basking the success of his inaugural series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, discussed collaborating with Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and others.
In a conversation with Galatta Plus, 61-year-old Bollywood filmmaker emphasized the necessity of organic casting in his films and emphasized the significance of it in his projects.
Discussing his working experience with celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Rani Mukerji and others, he said, “I’ve worked with wonderful actors Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Madhuri Dixit, Rani Mukerji, Amitabh Bachchan."
"I have been very blessed, Hrithik Roshan, Nana Patekar, they’re all wonderful."
Referring Seema Biswas as his all-time favorite, the director said, "One of the greatest actors. So I’ve been very, very fortunate."
SLB also believes that he shares a great rapport with each actor and expresses his opinion on not repeating the same cast in another film.
"They get upset about it or they feel, ‘We give so much to Sanjay for this, why not this one?’ But I feel sometimes the casting is very organic. It has to come from deep within. We are not here to build relationships," the Padmavat director said.
