Rajkummar Rao made a humorous remark in response to Janhvi Kapoor's nepotism joke, prompting the actress to react, questioning.
While chatting with Mirchi Plus alongside Rajkummar, the 27-year-old actress reflected on her school days, recalling a moment when she participated in a choir but had her microphone deliberately muted during a performance due to her lack of singing ability.
The Bawaal actress said, "The mic in front of my face was switched off intentionally. The woman said Switch off the mic in front of Janhvi"
On which Rajkummar responded, "Why did they keep her in the choir? Could have said no," then Janhvi divulged, “Nepotism, of course. That’s why they kept me in the choir.”
Then the Stree actor responded, “Then it’s okay. Then I wish we had the ability to switch off many other mics," on which Janhvi inquired, “Is that a taunt to me?”
Meanwhile, both the actors are preparing for the release of their forthcoming sports drama movie, Mr & Mrs Mahi, which is slated for release in theaters on May 31, 2024.
In the film, Janhvi takes on the role of a doctor-turned-cricketer, supported by her husband, portrayed by Rajkummar Rao.
