Sharmin Segal reveals she gave '16 auditions' to Sanjay Leela Bhansali for 'Heeramandi' role

Sharmin Segal mentioned that she underwent 16 auditions for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Heeramandi.
During a recent episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show, Sharmin, along with other cast members of Heeramandi, astonished viewers by disclosing that despite being Bhansali’s niece, she had to audition for her role as Alamzeb.
When the show host, Kapil Sharma asked, "Did they actually audition you or did you make them your uncle?," Sharmin revealed that it was an arduous year-long process that included sixteen auditions.
The 28-year-old actress said, "In one year I gave 16 auditions for the role."
For the unversed, Sharmin Segal in portraying the character of Alamzed in the inaugural web-series of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar.
The web-series, a period drama based on the pre-partition life of courtesans in Lahore is streaming on Netflix from May 1, 2024.
Alongside Sharmin, the web-series also features, Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Sanjeeda Shaikh in the lead roles.
Earlier, on the occasion of SLB birthday, Sharmin penned a touching note for her uncle, in which she explained how the 61-year-old Bollywood director is an inspiration for her.
