Richa Chadha responded to Nora Fatehi's comment on "women as nurturers," stating that she is not completely agree.
During her conversation with Puja Talwar, the 37-year-old actress discussed Nora Fatehi's perspective on feminism and expressed her disagreement with some of the views shared by her regarding gender roles.
The Fukrey actress highlighted the intriguing aspect that it accommodates individuals who reap its benefits while shying away from the label of being feminist.
She also elaborated that the ability to pursue a career, select attire freely, and embrace independence stems from feminism and the efforts of those before us who advocated for women's active participation in the workforce rather than confining them to domestic roles.
Richa said, “All roles are defined, not as gender roles, but as, just as people who are sharing the responsibility of bringing a child into the world."
"And I don’t fully agree with this women should be this way. And not this way. I’m surprised it was said at all, actually,” she added.
This response came after, when Nora remarked that she doesn't subscribe to feminism and the notion of "I don't need anyone."
On the work front, Richa Chada is currently basking the success of web-series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar.
Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the web-series was released was Netflix on May 1, 2024.
Alongside Richa, it features an ensemble cast, including, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Manisha Koirala, Sanjeeda Shaikh, and Sharmin Segal and others.
