Priyanka Chopra opens up about 'dark' phase in Hollywood
Priyanka Chopra shared how she overcame her darkest moments during her early days in Hollywood
Priyanka Chopra reminisced about a "dark" period in her life during her early days in Hollywood, revealing feelings of loneliness.
During a recent podcast with Cavanaugh James' Read The Room, the 41-year-old actress discussed her early challenges in the Western entertainment industry and how she triumphed over her darkest moments.
The Love Again actress said, "It was the industry that I didn't know, the people, I didn't know, I didn't have friends who would call at 2 in the morning. That's very important."
"I was very lonely, and it was very scary. I was in New York City, which, anyway, is a daunting city. It was a dark period of my life."
Priyanka elaborated that despite gracing six magazine covers in her home country, Hollywood demanded she reconstruct her career entirely, even declining a meeting, which was a significant setback.
The Dostana star revealed that she remained steadfast, refusing to allow adversity to "rip her apart."
Priyanka explained, "I am a very ambitious woman. I run extremely quickly. I want everything to be resolved. I am solution-oriented. However, there are occasions when no remedies exist and you must accept the situation."
"That's the lesson that enabled me to ride the wave rather than fight it."
On the professional endeavor, Priyanka Chopra is in the midst of filming Heads Of State.
This upcoming action comedy will feature an ensemble cast including Idris Elba, John Cena, Jack Quaid, and more.
