Ranveer Singh breaks silence on deepfake video circulating online
Ranveer Singh will next appear in Rohit Shetty's film Singham Again
Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh raised alarm over deepfake video endorsing political party going viral.
On Friday, April 19, 2024, the 38-year-old actor took to his Instagram story on, where he posted a message saying, "Beware of deepfakes, friends."
This response came after a video of the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani actor emerged online, seemingly showcasing him expressing his political opinions.
However, it has since been revealed that the video was created using an artificial intelligence voice clone of the actor.
Although the footage, captured during the actor's recent visit to Varanasi, appears authentic, the audio features an AI-generated replication of Ranveer's voice.
On his professional endeavors, Ranveer Singh was last seen in the film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, alongside Alia Bhatt. The movie was released on July 28, 2023.
Now, he is set to revisit his character as Simmba in Rohit Shetty's police drama Singham Again.
Alongside Ranveer, the star-studded cast includes Deepika Padukone, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, and Kareena Kapoor Khan. The film is slated for its release on August 15, 2024.
Additionally, the Padmaavat star will take the lead in Farhan Akhtar's Don 3, scheduled for release in 2025.
