Apple rolls out AirPlay in hotel rooms
Apple aims to expand service to more places
After a slight wait, Apple is now offering AirPlay on TVs in hotel rooms, however, you can only use it if you are visiting one of the 60 IHG hotels that have the feature accessible as of right now.
The capability to utilise AirPlay in hotels equipped with LG TVs was initially disclosed by Apple during its 2023 Worldwide Developer Conference.
With the help of this tool, you may browse images or play games on a larger screen in addition to streaming TV shows, movies, and music from your phone to your hotel TV, according to The Verge.
Despite Apple's prior announcement that AirPlay would be available in hotels by the end of 2023, the rollout was ultimately postponed until this year.
With the introduction of iOS 17.3 this year, the capability at last became available.
As of now, only a few IHG properties in the US, Canada, and Mexico — including the Holiday Inn, Candlewood Suites, and Avid Hotels — support AirPlay.
According to Apple, more places will be added "in the coming months."
