Vidya Balan, who is presently preparing for the release of her upcoming movie Do Aur Do Pyaar, alongside Pratik Gandhi, commented on nepotism in the Hindi film industry.
In a conversation with The Indian Express, the 45-year-old actress discussed nepotism, stating that regardless of its presence, she managed to reach her current position.
When questioned if she ever experienced its impact, the Hamari Adhuri Kahani actress replied, “have never known how to respond to this question because nepotism or no nepotism I am here."
She added, "The film industry doesn’t belong to somebody’s father otherwise all the star kids would be successful."
Mentioning that she has been an independent entity, Vidya said, “I have been happy doing my own things. There were times when I felt like, maybe if I had the protection of certain people, people would have been a bit kinder in those phases."
"But in terms of opportunities, I don’t think anybody has been able to deny me my share. So, I feel it really doesn’t matter,” Vidya added.
