Shaheen Afridi’s Instagram story warns against testing his 'patience'
"Never ever put me in a position where I have to show you how cruel and ruthless I can be," the video story states
Star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi seems to be angry over his removal as captain role of the national side’s T20I team with latest Instagram story warning against testing his patience.
In the latest Instagram story, he posted a video which says, "Never ever put me in a position where I have to show you how cruel and ruthless I can be. Don't test my patience, because I might be the kindest and sweetest person you've ever met, but once I reach my limit, you'll see me do the things that no one thought I was capable of doing."
Social media users believe that Shaheen is cross with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) over snatching his captaincy title, and some even believe he finds Babar Azam also a part of dismantling him from the role.
The PCB on March 29 replaced Shaheen with Babar Azam as the T20I skipper ahead of five-match T20I series against New Zealand set to commence on April 18.
The cricket board, in a statement, said that the change in captaincy was a "strategic move" aimed at ensuring player well-being and peak performance and that the decision reflected PCB's resolve to safeguard the longevity of the players, especially the fast bowlers.
It is pertinent to know that the board had appointed Shaheen as the team's T20 skipper following Babar's resignation from the key post in November 2023 following the team’s below-par performance in the 2023 Asia Cup and the ODI World Cup.
