Former President Trump criticised Democrats for misinterpreting what he said last weekend when he warned about a "bloodbath" if he loses the election in November. The former president's campaign took the controversy as an opportunity to raise funds.

“The Fake News Media, and their Democrat Partners in the destruction of our Nation, pretended to be shocked at my use of the word BLOODBATH, even though they fully understood that I was simply referring to imports allowed by Crooked Joe Biden, which are killing the automobile industry,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

On Saturday, Donald Trump held a rally in Dayton, Ohio, where he delivered a fiery speech. During the speech, he said, "If we don't win this election, I don't think you're going to have another election in this country. It's going to be a bloodbath for the whole country."

His "bloodbath" comments spread rapidly online, catching the attention of Democrats and his critics, who argued that Trump's remarks clearly suggested violence if he loses the election to President Biden in November.

“It’s clear this guy wants another January 6,” Biden wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “But the American people are going to give him another resounding electoral defeat this November.”

Trump's supporters defended him and said his comments were being misunderstood and taken out of context. They insisted that he was actually referring to the potential political damage to the auto industry if Biden wins again.

“The United Auto Workers, but not their leadership, fully understand what I mean,” he said on his social media platform.

“With the Electric Car Mandate being pushed by Biden, there soon won’t be any cars made in the USA – UNLESS I’M ELECTED PRESIDENT, IN WHICH CASE AUTO MANUFACTURING WILL THRIVE LIKE NEVER BEFORE!!!”

Donald Trump's campaign does not seem to come slow as it capitalised on the controversy, sending out a fundraising email titled "Bloodbath!"
