Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater sparked break up rumours following a viral post on X, formerly Twitter by a pop culture account.
Speculations went rife about the relationship status of the couple after the social media user cited TMZ as they announced the news of their split.
“Ariana Grande has split up with ‘Wicked’ co-star Ethan Slater, TMZ reports,” it read, prompting fans and followers to go feral at the possibility.
“We/y’all literally begged for that, so now let’s be happy,” claimed one X user in the replies.
“disappointed but not surprised,” another resigned.
A third user celebrated: “Our prayers have been answered”.
However, many questioned the credibility of the news as there was no such report from TMZ on their website.
Soon, a community note was added below the post that confirmed: “No such TMZ story exists.”
Given the lack of tips or official announcements regarding an update on their relationship, it would be safe to assume that Ariana and Ethan have not split.
In fact, the Thank u, next singer is currently reveling in the success of her new album, Eternal Sunshine, after its release earlier this month.
Grande’s latest music project is believed to be an ode to letting go of a previous relationship while making room for a new one, a telling nod to her real life.
