Kate Middleton heading for the same fate as Princess Diana?

Kate Middleton, who has often been compared to her late mother-in-law Princess Diana for a multitude of things, may also be headed for a similar fate amid fears over her well being.

The Princess of Wales has not been seen in public since her Christmas appearance with the royal family. In January 2024, Kensington Palace announced that Kate had undergone a ‘planned abdominal surgery’ and will be taking time off until Easter from royal duties in order to recover.

Kate’s prolonged absence sparked some fears, but what really threw conspiracy theorists in a frenzy was when the royal’s first photo in months, shared on Mother’s Day, turned out to be ‘manipulated’ by top international photo agencies.

Amid this fiasco, Prince William’s alleged affair with Lady Rose Hanbury, Marchioness of Cholmondeley, resurfaced, alluding that Kate’s marriage may be in trouble.

In 2019, William was spotted having dinner with Rose, who is married to David Cholmondeley, 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley and shares three children with him. In Touch reported that William allegedly cheated with Rose while Middleton was pregnant with their third child, Louis.

The rumours suggest that William has been in love with Rose for many years but he ultimately decided to marry Kate.

Similar to his father King Charles, who was in love with Camilla Parker Bowles but had to marry Diana. However, Charles never got over Camilla. In the early '90s, when Diana exposed Charles’ affair, the couple had a messy seperation, sending shockwaves across the monarchy.

Charles and Diana eventually divorced in 1996, and a year later Diana died in a fatal car crash. On the other hand, Charles ended up marrying Camilla in 2005.

If the drama with Rose Hanbury is true, Kate's marriage may be in a situation similar to Princess Diana.

However, Omid Scobie rejected the rumours of William cheating on Kate in his book, Endgame. And while neither William nor Rose have directly addressed the rumours, William’s attorney told the Daily Beast in 2019 that the claims were “false and highly damaging.”

To add to the mystery, the rumours surrounding Kate’s health and her marriage have not died down given the shroud of secrecy. Many are beginning to worry that there is something really wrong with Kate.

Moreover, according to reports, BBC Events production unit has been notified to keep an eye out for a “major announcement” from the royal family in the wake of the current health crisis.

Speculating over what the announcement could be amid Kate’s photo editing fiasco, TikTok page, Popapologists, run by sisters Lauren & Chen, pointed out the BBC events responsible for covering “wedding, coronations and funerals.”

Per a report by The Sunday Times, Kate is meant to address her health woes once she resumes her royal duties. An insider suggested that Kate will be coming back after April 17 as William prepares her for her first public appearance since surgery.

Now, it remains to be seen if Kate will be able to dispel the ongoing speculations once and for all or if she is actually playing the role of the former, late Princess of Wales.
