Inside Miley Cyrus' family drama: Grammy snub, divorce, disrespect

Miley Cyrus' family has been in the spotlight for a while owing to lot of drama which first began after her parents Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus's divorce.

Tish filed for divorce from her former husband Billy Ray back in April 2022, releasing a joint statement that announced their split.

However, it wasn't long until Tish came up with accusations, framing Billy for putting up with "disrespect in every form" during her marriage.

This raised eyebrows, pointing towards bigger reasons following the former couple's split.

Miley, who got on the wrong foot with her father, decided to root for her mother after their nasty divorce.

A few months later, a source told E! News about Miley’s emotions, noting: "The divorce between her parents have put a strain on [Miley's] relationship with her dad and it's been hard to connect with him in the last year. She hopes they can eventually work on their relationship."

Tish went on to marry Prison Break star Dominic Purcell in August 2023 and in the same year Billy Ray married Australian musician Firerose, who he met on the set of Hannah Montana. 

Notably, the wedding was attended by Miley Cyrus, Brandi Cyrus, and Trace Cyrus but Noah Cyrus and Braison Cyrus skipped the event entirely.

Reports later revealed that Noah's absence from her mother's wedding was because she had first dated Dominic as Us Weekly stated: "Noah was [seeing] Dominic when Tish started dating him."

Additionally, Tish "was aware" of the situation and the "turmoil between Noah and Tish goes far beyond [what people think]. Noah is very distraught over Tish stealing Dominic from her."

As a result, Noah, who has "always been close with Billy Ray", gravitated towards him which severely "caused a rift between her and Miley."

This was made glaringly obvious in February 2024, when the Hannah Montana star won her first Grammy for Record of the Year for Flowers. 

While accepting the award she expressed gratitude for everyone in her family but excluded her father, Billy.
