Disha Patani, known for her role in Baaghi 2, has responded to claims about well-known filmmaker, Karan Johar's nepotism, stating that he actually discovered her.
During the trailer launch event for Sidharth Malhotra's action film Yodha, the 31-year-old actress disclosed that Karan noticed her during her teenage modeling days.
She told, “If I am an actress today, it is also because of Karan Johar, because he was the one who actually spotted me when I was modelling. I was just 18. I feel like I wouldn’t have been here, if he hadn't spotted me at that time.”
“So when people say whatever (hinting at nepotism)... I am an outsider. So I feel like this is the opportunity that he gave me,” Disha added.
In response, Karan, who was also present at that time, expressed affection towards the Malang actress by saying "I love you" and giving her hugs.
The interaction was interrupted by Sidharth, who joked, "What are you saying Disha, me too," referring to his debut in Karan's movie Student Of The Year in 2012.
The event was attended by the entire team of Yodha, which is set to release on March 15, 2024.
