Ananya Panday recently revealed that she did projects in past for the wrong reasons, not reflecting on their outcomes.
Speaking candidly to Film Companion, the Kho Gaye Hum Kahan star admitted that every time the actress did a film that she wasn’t truly passionate about, it would blow up in her face.
She said: "I think maybe I did it for the wrong reasons, and I always knew that somewhere in my heart. Then when it didn’t go exactly as planned, I think it reinforced my belief in myself a lot more that you just have to go with your instinct because that’ll always pay off."
"You know working with good people, doing a script you believe in, in some way, is always going to pay off."
The 25-year-old actress talked about her belief in a certain role and how it helped her get through the entire film.
She further mentioned that now that Panday has developed a deep passion for acting, and that she feels a strong responsibility towards the characters she delves into, adding that she wishes to represent women in the best way.
The Student of the Year 2 actress explained: "I feel like I’ve lost myself and I’ve just fallen in love with the process of it (acting)."
She added: "I don’t want to do less, and I feel like it’ll be a disappointment to so many you know women and girls out there if I reduce them to that as well."
The Gehraiyaan actress also recalled filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane helping her make decisions wisely.
He talked sense into the actress, encouraging her to take scripts that Ananya is passionate about and that "don't listen to too many people" since she admitted she’s a "people pleaser" as well as a "teacher’s pet."
She added: "If I have to be convinced to do something, it never goes right.”
Ananya was last seen in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, sharing screen space with Siddhant Chaturvedi, Adarsh Gourav, Anya Singh, Kalki Koechlin, among others.
