Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh to become parents, reveal due date

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are set to embark on a new journey as parents after the former took to Instagram to announce that they are expecting their first child. 

In a post on Instagram, the Bajirao Mastani actress shared a photo announcing that their little bundle of joy is set to arrive earthside in September. 

As of yet, the gender of their child remains unknown but little-known details of the actress's pregnancy reveal that she is in her second trimester. 

The official announcement comes after a string of rumours claiming that the couple was expecting their first child. 

Telltale signs of the pair's new milestone included a moment where Deepika concealed her midriff when wearing a saree at the 77th British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA). 

The pair's desire for parenthood was not unknown, in an interview in 2023, the Pathaan alum said that she and Ranveer adored children and that parenthood was definitely on the cards for them. 

"Absolutely. Ranveer and I love children. We look forward to the day when we will start our own family," she told the publication. 

She elaborated, "When I meet the people I have grown up with—my aunts, uncles, family friends—they always mention how I haven’t changed one bit. That says a lot about our upbringing. In this industry, it’s easy to get carried away by fame and money. But no one treats me like a celebrity at home."

"I am a daughter and a sister first. I don’t want that to change. My family keeps me grounded and Ranveer and I hope to inculcate the same values in our children."
