VIDEO: Cristiano Ronaldo debuts new celebration after netting his first goal of 2024
Al Nassr bagged victory after Ronaldo's 874th career goal
Al Nassr’s Cristiano Ronaldo on Wednesday night debuted a new goal celebration after he netted his first goal of 2024, in a 1-0 win over Al Feiha in the first leg of their Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League round of 16 clash, Goal reported.
Wednesday night’s face-off between the two teams had been a frustrating game overall for the Riyadh club but Ronaldo's goal made all the difference.
After playing a slick one-two with Marcelo Brozovic, Ronaldo beat the Al Feiha keeper with a cheeky first-time chip from nine yards in the 81st minute of the game.
The late-winning goal marked his 874th career goal, coming in his 1,000th club appearance.
It was also the former Real Madrid star's first goal since celebrating his 39th birthday.
After his first stunner of 2024, the soccer legend was seemingly about to perform his famous 'SIU' celebration by jumping into the air, but instead of spinning and spreading his arms, he closed his eyes and placed both hands on his chest.
Thanks to the Portuguese forward’s goal, Al Nassr bagged a victory that their domination had deserved, having recorded 14 shots — 12 more than Al Feiha — and having had 77% of possession.
The second leg will take place at Al Nassr's King Saud University Stadium on February 21.
