Janitor injured in hospital clash

LANDIKOTAL: A janitor was critically injured when he was hit by a medical technician with a stone in the Agency Headquarters Hospital in Landikotal on Thursday, sources said.
According to the sources, the incident happened during duty hours when janitor Pervez Masih and medical technician Imran scuffled with each other after a brief exchange of harsh words. Imran hit Pervez Masih on the head with a stone.
The sources said Pervez Masih received deep wound on his head and was taken to the emergency department of the hospital for treatment. The local Christian community head Arshad Masih told reporters that all class-IV employees and other Christians will stage protest if the hospital authorities didn’t take notice of the brutal attack against the employee.
When contacted, Medical Superintendent Dr Nazir Wazir said he had no idea about the reason behind the attack against the staffer of the hospital.He said he was in contact with the Christian community chairman Arshad Masih to resolve the matter peacefully.
Blankets distributed: The Al-Khidmat Foundation distributed blankets among those affected by the last earthquake in different parts of Landikotal. Jamaat-i-Islami office-bearers in Landikotal told The News that 120 affectees were provided blankets.
