DAGGAR: The lawyers in Buner district on Saturday stayed away from courts to protest the killing of their senior colleague a day earlier and demanded the government to bring the perpetrators to justice at the earliest.
Dost Mohammad Khan advocate was gunned down in Daggar, the headquarters of Buner district, on Friday.
The members of the District Bar Association Buner at a meeting, presided over by Shams Buneri, president of the association, condemned the killing of Dost Mohammad.
All the members of the association, including its General Secretary Abdul Marood Khan and senior lawyers Ghulam Mustafa Khan, Rafiqullah Khan and others attended the meeting. The association had also announced three-day mourning.
The meeting demanded speedy investigation into the blind murder.
The lawyers urged the government to bring the perpetrators of the killing to justice and award them exemplary punishment.
Meanwhile, Peshawar High Court Bar Association President Fida Gul and heads of the district bars from various district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa visited the hujra of late Dost Mohammad Khan to offer condolence to the bereaved family. They prayed for eternal rest of the departed soul and patience for the family members.
