PESHAWAR: The activists of the Pakistan Maseehi League Tuesday staged a protest against the twin suicide attacks on churches in Lahore and demanded to expand the scope of the military operation Zarb-e-Azb to the Punjab province. Holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the suicide attacks, the protesters gathered outside the Peshawar Press Club and staged the protest.
The speakers termed the Youhanabad attacks as an assault on the sovereignty of the state. They said that terrorists were targetting the minorities to create chaos in the country and vowed to not let such elements succeed in their nefarious designs. The speakers said that the anti-state elements have safe sanctuaries in Punjab and alleged that the provincial government was less bothered to take action against them. They said the provincial government had failed to provide protection to the minority and thus the scope of the operation Zarb-e-Azb should be expanded to the Punjab.
