PESHAWAR: Several retired employees of various federal and provincial government departments on Tuesday staged a protest to press the government for acceptance of their demands.
Carrying banners and placards to demand increase in pension and restoration of 30 percent employees’ son quota in government jobs, health allowance and other incentives, the protesters gathered outside the Peshawar Press Club.
Speaking on the occasion, All Pakistan Pensioners Association, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter, President Fida Mohammad Durrani said that the federal and provincial governments had increased salaries and allowances of the employees. However, no proper increase had been made in the salaries of the retired employees, he added.
