PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Service Tribunal on Tuesday restored services of station house officer (SHO) who was sacked for having alleged links with criminals and kidnappers.
A two-member bench of the tribunal comprising its Chairman Niaz Muhammad and member Gulzeb Khan restored the services of the SHO Pishtakhara, Khizar Hayat, after the prosecution failed to provide solid proofs and prove the charges against him.
Counsel for the appellant submitted that the official was posted as SHO in Pishtakhara Police Station in 2005 and there were accusations against him that he had developed links with the criminals and kidnappers. He submitted that after the complaints against the police officer, the IGP had terminated him from service.
The lawyer argued that the Police Department in the appeal against termination did not provide solid proofs against the appellant that could prove his links with criminals. He requested the tribunal to restore the appellant on his service as he is innocent.
The tribunal allowed appeal of the appellant and directed the department to restore him on his job forthwith.
