PESHAWAR: The college lecturers on Tuesday asked the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to regularise their services.
Speaking at a press conference, president All College Fund Lecturers Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mufti Ghafoor Jan and others said that the government had started recruiting lecturers in various colleges of the province and tribal areas on the basis of daily wages to fill the vacant posts in 2000.
He said that the lecturers were employed after proper tests and interviews purely on merit. He said that around 400 male and female lecturers were recruited but lamented that that they were not paid salaries on regular basis. They said that these lecturers were not
paid salaries during the leaves due to which their families were facing hardships. They said that there were 1200 vacant lecturer posts across the province.
