8-day photo exhibition begins today

PESHAWAR: An eight-day photo exhibition themed as “Human stories through photography” is going to kick off here at the Nishtar Hall gallery at 12 noon today (Thursday).

The Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP), Directorate of Culture, European Union, United Nations Information Centre, Embassy of France in Pakistan, UKAid and Agency France Press have jointly organised the event, said a communiqué.

It said that the exhibition will showcase a collection of 102 professional photographs documenting human stories of development in Pakistan. The event is aimed at promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and creating awareness among the people.

According to organisers, the exhibition will start at 10am and continue till 4pm at the Nishtar Hall Gallery. It will be open to students, both male and female, and families.Secretary Sports, Tourism and Culture Muhammad Tariq, TCKP Managing Director Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, Director Culture Ajmal Khan, director general for UN Sustainable Development Goals, counselor for development and culture corporation and other dignitaries will attend the exhibition.

The exhibition will display pictures on the SDGs that represent a common agenda adopted by the world leaders to end poverty, fight inequality and injustice and tackle the climate change by 2030.
