Police chief praises DRCs performance

HARIPUR: Inspector General Police (IGP) Nasir Khan Durrani has expressed satisfaction at the performance of dispute resolution council (DRC), which was established to dispense speedy justice to the masses.

This he said while speaking recently at a gathering at the new building of DRC Haripur where the local political leaders and police officers were in attendance. The IGP said that the system had become popular. “Now people prefer to take their cases to the DRCs, where they are getting their cases resolved within two to three hearings,” he added.

He also lauded the efforts of DRC members in resolution of disputes effectively and without any expenses.DRC Chairman Tehreemul Haq briefed the IGP about the status of pending and settled cases on the occasion. Established in 2014, the DRCs are responsible for speedy resolution of disputes and fact-finding enquiries.
