CHARSADDA: Police arrested an alleged kidnapper and recovered a girl from his possession in the limits of Umarzai Police Station,
official sources said on Saturday.
Talking to reporters at Umarzai Police Station, Station House Officer (SHO) Kashif Khan said that three alleged kidnappers identified as Shah Iran, Luqman and Ijaz had kidnapped Khadija, the daughter of one Ajmal Khan and a grade-7 student, for ransom while she was going home after attending a nearby seminary.
He said that the police recovered the abducted girl within three hours of her kidnapping on Friday evening.
The official added that the police arrested Shah Iran, one of the kidnappers, while efforts were underway to arrest the two kidnappers who were still at large.
Father of the abducted girl had told the police that he had sold a piece of land and kidnappers had demanded Rs2.7 million as a ransom for the release of her daughter.
The arrested man is a neighbour of the victim family and a student of intermediate Part-II.
He told the police that he had shared the information about the family’s recently acquired wealth after the sale of their land with his accomplices who designed the plan.
