Ella Langley gets emotional after her 'Choosin' Texas' breaks Mariah Carey's major record

Ella Langley is over the moon after discovering her Choosin' Texassong broke Mariah Carey’s record for the longest run at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The 27-year-old country pop star took to her Instagram account on Tuesday and credited her top charting song for “changing her life” as it has now spent 48 weeks on the chart.
“I’m genuinely trying to find the words to help explain what’s going on in my brain today,” Langley gushed in the video posted from beside her pool just hours after the record was announced.
She continued, "Thank you so much for loving this song, for listening to it... I'm running out of hyperboles to describe how I feel."
Ella also expressed her gratitude to her co-writers, Miranda Lambert, Luke Dick, and Joybeth Taylor, as the hit track also changed their lives.
"Just thank you so much, it's changing my life, it's changing the lives of the writers of this song. It's changing the lives of my family, and it is truly growing an atmosphere for something I'm gonna be able to do the rest of my life."
The songstress further gushed, “It doesn’t feel like a real thing. It feels fake and somebody is going to come and say, ‘Haha, we’re kidding the whole time."
She concluded the heartfelt message, noting, “I’m going to go out and celebrate tonight and I’m really excited to just experience a moment like this in my life."
Ella dropped Choosin’ Texas on October 17, 2025 and it debuted on the Hot 100 in November. Then in January of 2026 it became Ella’s first top 10 hit before reaching No. 1 in February.
