Kelly Clarkson reveals the song which nearly humbled her

Kelly Clarkson gave details about the challenging “Golden” performance.

During her recent appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Kelly revealed that The Clarkson Show came to an end and also opened up about her regular singing segment, kellyoke which she does on the iconic show. Moreover she chose her song “Golden” as her “final song.”

She said that the live singing segments were “my decision from the jump.”

Speaking about the challenge of performing Golden, Kelly shared, “That song is basically humans against AI,”

Noting, “I had never practiced that hard on a song. Usually I’m just a fan of music. We can even show up, and it’s like, ‘Oh, we have to change a song at the last minute?’ We can do it on the fly a lot,” she added, “But that one, it is very high and hard.”

“When I first started singing it, my son, who cannot help but be honest, just kept doing a walk-by in the house and being like, ‘That sounds real high,’” she further added.

Kelly playfully reflected what she told her son, stating, “‘It is, Remington! I’m working on placement!’ It took me forever to place it to where I didn’t sound like a dying cat.”

“I love that song, though,” she acknowledged.

The pop star went on to say, “I’m gonna be really honest with you here. I was so proud when people liked it,” Kelly continued, “I worked really hard.”

The Grammy-winning singer admitted that the song pushed her harder than expected. “No one knows this, but I tried to do it twice just for insurance as a backup, and it did not sound as good, so I just stopped.”

“I was like, ‘That song’ — I don’t know if you can say this, but it made me its bitch a little bit,” the 44-years-old singer added.
