When Princess Diana ‘panic phone called’ Royal expert

Princess Diana seemingly regretted collaborating with historian Andrew Morton on his book.

The former princess of Wales, who passed away in a car accident in Paris 1997, told author Dickie Arbiter that she regretted speaking to Andrew Morton about her life.

Arbiter reveals the Royal contacted him during a panic 5 am phone call as she discussed her apprehensions.

Recalling her anxious question, Dickie said: "'What do I do?' I said, 'Ma'm, you've already done it - don't you regret doing it?' She said, 'Yes.' I said, 'Well, it's too late now. The horse has bolted.'"

Dickie recalled the phone call on the At Home with Vanessa podcast.

He continued: "She said, 'Well, what do I do now?' I said, 'What you do now? You don't answer the telephone and you don't go out. You've got an engagement on Thursday. Don't go anywhere. I'll be with you on Thursday and we'll bat it from there, but do not contact anybody.' Whether she took my advice, I don't know."
