King Charles ‘is right’ to put damaging accusations to rest

King Charles is praised for setting the records straight against Charles Spencer.

His Majesty, who released the statement via Buckingham Palace refuting claims that he was happy over Princess Diana’s death.

Speaking about Buckingham Palace statement, Royal expert Jennie Bond says: “I think the Palace was right to put out a statement in the face of such damaging accusations.”

She adds: “They had no choice but to challenge Earl Spencer‘s claim that Prince Charles, as he was at the time, said after Diana’s death ‘rest assured, we’ll forget her soon enough.’”

“And though they haven’t commented further, it’s obvious that the King would also wholly dispute that he sounded ‘giddily elated… like a lottery winner’ when he rang his ex brother-in-law on the night Diana died,” she noted.
