Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh made an eventful royal tour of Zambia.

On September 18, the royal family’s official Instagram handle offered glimpses into Sophie's notable visit to Zambia, which took place from September 14 to 19.


However, the caption highlighted several engagements: “The Duchess of Edinburgh met the President of the Republic of Zambia, Hakainde Hichilema, and Mutinta Hichilema, First Lady of Zambia.”

It added, “The Duchess of Edinburgh has visited the Republic of Zambia to celebrate the relationship between Zambia and the UK.”

“The Duchess visited Mukuni Rural Health Centre to recognise Zambia’s progress to eliminate trachoma, a painful and potentially blinding eye disease.”

“HRH met health workers, community volunteers and patients whose lives have been transformed through improved access to eye health services,” the caption read.

However, it further pointed to her visit to Lower Zambezi, Maramba Primary School, an eye health charity reception, Kufadza female scouts, and meeting women business leaders, as well as several other activities.

In the comment section, royal fans showed their support; one user wrote, “The Duchess did such a wonderful visit! It was amazing to see her working with women, eye health and environment conservation this week in Zambia! Brilliant work done by HRH, as always.”
