The US Mint announced that the Trump $1 coin has launched and is now in circulation
In a latest update, the US Mint introduced a new $1 coin marking the 250th anniversary of the United States. The Trump semiquincentennial coin features a commemorative design and represents a historic milestone in the nation’s coinage.
The coin enters circulation with a forward-facing Trump portrait on the obverse by Chief Engraver Joseph Menna paired with the Presidential Seal on the turnaround for the 1776-2026 anniversary.
The Kobeissi Letter calls it a historic first for a sitting president on a circulating US coin, setting social media ablaze like “We are tired of winning for Mr President” alongside memecoin launches.
The United States Mint was launched in 1972 and became part of the Department of the Treasury in 1873.
The Mint is responsible for producing circulating coinage for the Nation to conduct its trade and commerce as the nation’s sole manufacturer of legal tender coinage.
Chief Engraver Joseph Menna at the Mint used an official White House taken by Daniel Torok as an inspiration to design the price.
In addition, the agency said it captures the spirit, pride, and legacy of a nation ahead of its landmark anniversary.
