Christopher Nolan’s brother’s shocking prison plot revealed

The acclaimed director, Christopher Nolan’s older brother, Matthew Nolan, was kept in a federal detention facility in Chicago in 2009, suspected of planning a prison breakout, as per Radar Online.

However, Matthew was later found guilty of planning an escape, and he was sentenced to 14 months in prison.

As the authorities “recovered approximately 31 feet of braided roping material, a similarly braided harness, a metal clip from a pen cap, and a broken piece of a razor blade hidden in the defendant's bar of soap.”

Christopher wrote a letter in support of his brother, saying, "I believe that the shame and hardship his incarceration has brought [him] means that his punishment has already been substantial."

Furthermore, Matthew was accused of being involved in the kidnapping and death of an American, Robert Cohen, who was found dead in 2005 in a Central American city.

Moreover, Court documents highlighted that the evidence was insufficient: "This evidence that the U.S. judge considered was insufficient to link Mr. Nolan with the crimes committed against Mr. Cohen, is the same evidence used to condemn Mr. Mejia here in Costa Rica."

It is worth noting here that Christopher has two brothers, Jonathan Nolan, who is a director, screenwriter, and producer, while Matthew Nolan was a real estate developer.

It is pertinent to mention that Matthew is no longer in custody as he has completed his sentence.
