Alan Ritchson preaches message of self-love amid divorce from wife Catherine

Alan Ritchson is highlighting the importance of "learning to love yourself" after ending her marriage to Catherine Ritchson.

On Sunday, the Reacher actor shared a video on his Instagram handle in which he admitted that he does not consider himself "worthy of love."

“Here’s some post-sauna clarity for ya. Today I want to talk about learning to love yourself and how I think this could be the great antidote to our times and the frustration that many of us feel,” said Alan. “You know, the world bombards us with so many messages, each day, about how we’re not quite enough, right?”

“If we just bought this thing or if we were not sober we’d be more fun, more relational, we’d be better friends, you know? If we had this or that material thing we’d be worth more to the world and more worthy of love, right? It’s kind of the message that capitalism teaches us and it’s hard in western cultures to get rid of that lie," he added.

Alan's inspirational message comes just days after he parted ways with Catherine.

“After 20 years together, Cat and I have decided to end our marriage and continue alongside one another in a different way,” the pair wrote in a joint statement shared on IG on September 12.

“We grew up together, we built a life and a family together," they added. “We are raising three incredible boys, who will always be the center of our world. Nothing can diminish what these years have meant to us — or the love and respect we will always share.”
