Gal Gadot has opened up about the physical toll of filming The Runner.

Speaking about the filming of the upcoming action thriller, the actress told People Magazine, "I finished the film on crutches."

"There was only so much [I could do]. At one point I broke my feet and that was it. And afterwards I needed to recover and all of that,' Gadot added further.

Furthermore, Gadot shared, "And of course, we picked up whatever we couldn’t finish because I had broken feet, but I need to get back at it. I feel like we exhausted the idea of running for me after running for so many months like this."

The film stars Gal Gadot as Maia Marten. In order to prepare for the role, the actress revealed that she was trained by the Olympic trainer and spent months running across streets, railway tracks and various locations throughout London. “It’s one of those things that you prep and prep and prep, but you never know how we’re going to do that."

"Neither of us have ever filmed anything like this. As much as I did many action films in my career, I’ve never done one where I’m running every day, the entire day.”

"So it took a lot of trial and error and adjusting, and we did it. And I’m so excited to finally share this film with everybody," Gadot shared.

Notably, Gadot shared that she needed a break after she injured herself during filming. "The last day I was ready to finish. I mean, crutches are a nice accessory, but not for me," the actress, famously known for playing Wonder Woman, added.

For those unaware, The Runner, directed by Kevin Macdonald, is set to premiere on Prime Video on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
