Katseye replaced at Olivia Rodrigo’s festival

Katseye have pulled out of Olivia Rodrigo’s inaugural Daisy Chain Fields festival just two days before the star-studded event is set to take place.

The K-pop girl group announced the cancellation on Thursday after member Megan Meiyok Skiendiel suffered an ankle injury during a tour rehearsal.

In a statement shared to Instagram, the group apologised to fans who had been looking forward to seeing them perform at the festival, which takes place Saturday in Irvine, California.

“We're so incredibly sorry to share that we are unable to perform at Daisy Chain Fields this Saturday,” Katseye wrote.

“Megan sprained her ankle yesterday during tour rehearsal and after being evaluated by doctors, she has been advised to stay off it and allow it to properly heal so we can be ready for our upcoming tour.”

The group added that they were “heartbroken” to disappoint fans who had already made plans to attend.

“We were especially excited for Daisy Chain Fields because it's not just about music, but the greater mission of joy and community,” they continued, sending their support to Rodrigo, the other performers and the organisations involved with the event.

Daisy Chain Fields is being curated by Rodrigo and features an all-female lineup including Chappell Roan, Doechii, Rachel Chinouriri, The Breeders, Garbage, Stevie Nicks, Karen O and Sarah McLachlan. Proceeds from the festival will benefit charities supporting women and girls.

Alt-pop singer-songwriter Devon Again will be replacing Katseye on the lineup.

The cancellation comes after a turbulent period for the group. Sophia had previously stepped back from band activities to focus on her mental well-being, while Manon was announced to be taking a hiatus in February, temporarily reducing the group to four members.
