Daniel Faalele traded to Jaguars just months after joining Giants

The New York Giants are trading offensive lineman Daniel Faalele to the Jacksonville Jaguars just months after signing him in free agency.
Jacksonville will send New York a Day 3 pick in the 2027 NFL draft in exchange for Faalele, according to Newsday Sports and NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
THe Giants signed the former Baltimore Ravens lineman to a one-year $1.4 million contract in April.
The deal included $687,000 guaranteed, according to The Athletic's Dan Duggan.
Faalele, 26, made his Giants debut at left guard during Saturday's preseason defeat to the Minnesota Vikings. It proved to be his only appearance for New York.
The Giants' need for Faalele diminished after they selected Francis Mauigoa with the No. 10 pick in the 2026 NFL draft.
Mauigoa started at right guard in his preseason debut, while Jon Runyan is expected to remain at left guard.
Faalele spent his first four NFL seasons with Baltimore after being selected in the fourth round of the 2022 draft.
Jacksonville, meanwhile, needs offensive line depth after starting right guard Patrick Mekari underwent back surgery during the offseason.
Faalele could play when the Jaguars face the Carolina Panthers in Friday's preseason game.
