Apple's to launch 3 iPhone models in 2027: Check details here

Apple is breaking its 15-year tradition of unified fall launches. Beginning in 2027, the company will split iPhone releases across two seasons a dramatic shift that signals a fundamental change in how Apple manages its smartphone empire.

Beginning this fall, Apple is scheduled to launch its new phones, the iPhone 18 Pro and a folding version. After that, unlike previous years, Apple will take months before releasing more models in spring. These three models are the regular iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, and iPhone Air 2.

This scheduling strategy helps address an actual issue. The number of models Apple releases each year has increased from four to up to six.

Rather than a single spike in September, Apple now captures consumer interest twice yearly. Spring buyers who can't afford premium devices get an alternative. Those chasing the latest camera tech or foldable innovation wait for fall.

The iPhone 18e is designed for budget-friendly customers, something which has been overlooked by Apple so far. The regular iPhone 18 will cater to the middle market. Meanwhile, the new iPhone Air 2 is an upgraded version of the innovative thin model launched last year. It is widely reported that the iPhone XR 2 will feature a dual camera system, which was the major complaint about its predecessor.

The foldable iPhone, according to reports, is Apple's trump card; however, should any production difficulties hold it back, the fall launch will take place even without the foldable device.
