iPhone 18 Pro preorders now delays to October

If you still haven't ordered your iPhone 18 Pro or Pro Max, you should plan around an October delivery, not a launch-day one. Two days into pre-orders, Apple's shipping estimates have moved well past the September 18 release date for most configurations.

The Apple online store in the United States currently shows the release date for the iPhone 18 Pro Max from October 6 to October 13 for every colour and memory variation. The smaller iPhone 18 Pro is a bit better with estimates from September 29 to October 6.

But only customers who purchased during the first few hours of pre-orders, available on the weekend, are going to receive their devices on the day of the launch.

The difference between the two models identifies the location of the demand. The more expensive the model, the less people choose it. And this rule will also work here.

If you are ready to buy a middle Pro Max variant in a popular colour scheme, then October is the month for you.

Placing an order now puts you roughly two to four weeks behind the initial rush, depending on which model and configuration you choose.

The Apple Store pickup variable is something else to consider, which will sometimes be faster than the delivery option online, especially if one is close enough to a store with inventory that hasn’t been claimed by other customers yet on launch day.
