King Charles gave a nod to sister-in-law Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh's latest move.

On Friday, Sophie, wife of Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh traveled to New York City to attend one of the world's largest annual gatherings focused on gender equality and women's empowerment.

On behalf of the monarch, the official Instagram handle of the British royal family shared highlights as Sophie stepped onto the global stage.

Along with the photos shared from the gathering, the caption featured details about the royal visit. It read, "The Duchess of Edinburgh has visited New York to attend the United Nations’ Commission on the Status of Women."

"Her Royal Highness, who is passionate about championing women’s meaningful participation in peace processes, and supporting survivors of conflict-related sexual violence, met women peace builders to discuss their work and reflect on their experiences," the caption read further.

Furthermore, the official handle of the UK Mission to United Nations also posted a video clip from Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh's visit.

In the video, the wife of King Charles' brother Prince Edward can be seen addressing the audience, stating, "It’s an honour to be back once again at CSW as a champion of women peacebuilders and the victims of sexual violence around the world."
