MARDAN: Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Jamil Ahmed on Tuesday inaugurated the Sports Gala 2025 at the Garden Campus of the Abdul Wali Khan University in Mardan.
Doves and colorful balloons were released into the air. Horse dances, performances of spear throwing, the beat of drums and the presentation of horsemen gave the stadium the appearance of a festival.
Colourful dances highlighting the culture of the four provinces were well received by the participants.
Martial arts players, gymnasts and athletes presented displays of strength, skill and balance.
As many as 52 teams marched past the ceremony and saluted the vice chancellor, with special participation from colleges of Lonkhor, Takht Bhai and Nowshera.
The vice-chancellor appreciated the efforts of Director Sports Dr. Farooq Hussain and his team. He said the Sports Gala is not only a means of promoting sports but also provides an excellent opportunity to promote discipline, self-confidence, healthy competition and national unity among students.
