PESHAWAR: A number of areas in the provincial capital are facing Sui gas shortage even before the onset of proper winter, causing inconvenience to households.

Residents complained that several parts of the city and its suburban areas have been experiencing an acute shortage of gas for quite some time.Earlier, gas was supplied for limited hours during peak times, but even that facility has been disrupted over the past few days.

As a result, consumers have turned to alternative energy sources such as LPG and firewood to meet their daily needs.People in Garhi Qamardin, Bahader Kelay on Kohat Road, as well as residents of Saddar, Gulberg, the inner city such as Zaryab Colony, Faqirabad, Dilzak Road, and other localities have been suffering due to the gas non-availability.

“There used to be gas for half an hour to one hour, three times a day. Now, the pressure has dropped so low that it’s impossible to cook meals,” said Umar Khan, a resident of Garhi Qamardin.
