MARDAN: Prolonged and unjustified gas loadshedding has created serious difficulties for residents across Mardan.
Due to low gas pressure and frequent outages, children are being forced to go to school without breakfast, while household women struggle to prepare meals.Residents expressed deep frustration over the situation, saying that despite repeated complaints, the authorities have failed to take any meaningful action.
They pointed out that gas supply to CNG stations continued uninterrupted, which further angered the public. Many citizens complained that instead of gas, only air was coming through the pipelines. They added that in several areas, gas supply had completely stopped, causing severe inconvenience to households. People said that despite paying heavy gas bills, they were not receiving any supply and were being forced to rely on expensive alternative sources for cooking.
Citizens criticized the authorities for their inaction and warned that the situation is worsening with each passing day. They demanded that the government and Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) immediately restore gas supply to all affected areas and take
strict action against the officials responsible for the crisis.
Residents further demanded that gas supply to CNG stations and commercial users in the district be suspended temporarily to ensure adequate supply for domestic consumers. They urged the government and SNGPL to prioritize household consumers and take urgent steps to resolve the ongoing gas shortage in Mardan.
