MARDAN: The exclusion of any elected representative from Mardan in the newly formed provincial cabinet has sparked strong criticism on social media.

Many users termed the decision unjust, arguing that Mardan played a key role in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) victory in the province. Some political observers attribute this exclusion to internal groupings and factionalism within PTI Mardan, while others believe it reflects dissatisfaction with the poor performance of former ministers from the district.

It is worth mentioning that PTI had made a clean sweep in Mardan during the general elections, winning three National Assembly and eight Provincial Assembly seats.Despite this overwhelming success, no representative from the district has been included in the new cabinet, which has caused disappointment among local party workers and supporters.

Local leaders have urged the provincial leadership to reconsider the decision and ensure representation for Mardan in the cabinet, keeping in view its political importance and contribution to the province’s development.Political and social figures have demanded that new faces be included in the provincial cabinet from Mardan to bring fresh ideas and energy into the government.

They said that giving opportunities to new and capable individuals would help improve governance and ensure better representation of the people.Critics argued that some members who had already served in the previous cabinet failed to deliver satisfactory performance, and therefore, it is time to bring in new and dynamic personalities who can work effectively for the district’s development.
