CHARSADDA: A high-level delegation from the United Kingdom visited Charsadda to promote local businesses, provide small traders with access to international markets, and raise entrepreneurial awareness among the youth.
The delegation, under the supervision of the Charsadda Chamber of Commerce, visited Bacha Khan University, Sheikhabad Economic Zone, and various business centres, where they met local industrialists and traders.
The purpose of the visit was to explore new investment opportunities in Charsadda, improve local industries and introduce modern business trends to young people. During the visit, provincial vice-president of the Charsadda Chamber of Commerce, Muhammad Nauman Khan, accompanied the delegation to various departments of Bacha Khan University.
Director ARC Muhammad Kamran and other university heads briefed the delegation on the university’s research and technical projects.While interacting with students and faculty members, the delegation emphasised that educational institutions in regions like Charsadda can play a vital role in business development.
They added that if youth were provided with skill-based education, entrepreneurship training, and international market linkages, they could significantly contribute to the country’s economic growth.
Later, the delegation visited Sheikhabad Economic Zone, where they inspected local industries and suggested ways to export Charsadda’s agricultural products, handicrafts, furniture and food items according to international standards.
Addressing a ceremony held in honour of the delegation, speakers said strengthening the agricultural economy, creating employment opportunities for youth, developing a skilled workforce, and involving women in business activities are essential needs of the time.Participants appreciated the UK delegation’s assurance of cooperation with Charsadda’s traders.
