CHITRAL: Member of the National Assembly (MNA) from Chitral, Ghazala Anjum, on Tuesday vowed to make every effort to secure facilities for the students at the University of Chitral.
Speaking at a ceremony arranged at the varsity, she said that the Pakistan Muslim League believes in the country’s development, prosperity, and providing facilities to the people. “Our party does not teach youth to create chaos or indulge in agitation. Rather, the government is striving to take steps that can enable young people to stand on their own feet,” she remarked.
The lawmaker said that the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme and the Prime Minister’s Loan Scheme have been launched to provide opportunities to the youth so they can benefit, support their families, and play a role in national development.
Ghazala Anjum added that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz had appointed her as the Coordinator of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme for Malakand Division. “It is in this capacity that I have come to the University of Chitral to learn about the challenges faced by the institution,” she explained.
The legislator assured that she would make every effort to ensure that all students of the University of Chitral benefit from the Laptop Scheme and that she would submit a special request to the prime minister in this regard.
She praised the services of the University of Chitral’s vice chancellor and faculty members for coming to a remote region and imparting knowledge to local students despite the lack of urban facilities.Later, the MNA inspected the under-construction building of the university and expressed satisfaction with the progress.
