BARA: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Thursday visited Bara tehsil of Khyber district to offer condolences to the families of those who lost lives in the recent Tirah incident and meet local elders and political leadership.
He was accompanied on the occasion by Pakistan People’s Party general secretary for Khyber Willayat Afridi, deputy general secretary Dr Sher Shah Afridi, Atta Muhammad Shinwari, Malik Javed Khan, and others.
Those present included Malik Zahir Shah Afridi, Malik Zarbat Khan Afridi, Bara Siyasi Ittehad president Hasham Khan, Tehsil Chairman Mufti Kafeel Afridi, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Khyber ameer Hazrat Khan, Jamaat-e-Islami Khyber chapter chief Shah Faisal Afridi, Pakistan Muslim League provincial vice-president Zahir Shah Afridi, Asghar Afridi, Awami National Party vice-president for Khyber Shireen Afridi, and others.
Speaking on the occasion, the governor expressed grief over the loss of lives in the Shadaley area of Tirah, saying that they had always stood for peace.He said KP, including all the tribal districts, had suffered heavily during militancy, with thousands of innocent people killed and displaced. “The Pakhtun belt should unite for peace, as militancy has badly affected education, health, and other development sectors in the province,” he said.
