Cop martyred in Dara Adamkhel attack

KOHAT: A police constable embraced martyrdom when terrorists opened fire on him in the mountainous area of Tor Chappar area Dara Adamkhel, officials said on Thursday. They said Constable Younas Khan was on his way when the terrorist targeted him near his home late Wednesday night. The assailants managed to escape after the attack. Soon after the incident, heavy contingents of police and security forces reached the site and launched a search operation to track down the attackers.

Meanwhile, the funeral prayers for the martyred cop were offered at Police Lines Kohat. Regional Police Officer (RPO), Kohat range, Abbas Majid Marwat, District Police Officer (DPO) Dr Zahidullah, DSP Razi Gul Khan, senior police officers, colleagues, relatives, and a large number of local residents attended the funeral. RPO Abbas Majid Marwat, along with a smartly turned-out police contingent, presented the guard of honour and laid floral wreaths on the coffin of the fallen officer. He was later buried in his ancestral graveyard with full state honours.
